Our Unscented Olive Oil Beeswax Salve, is a gentle salve made for everyday use. Made with only two, pure and friendly to the skin ingredients, organic olive oil and pure beeswax, it is suitable for all, even for breastfeeding mothers. They can safely use our salve for soothing cracked skin on the nipples or on other areas of the body that come into contact with the baby's mouth. 

Olive oil has a centuries old history as a skin protecting agent. In ancient Greece olive oil was a key element in personal care. It was spread on the body to protect the skin from the sun and cold. After a bath, the bather's body and hair were coated with aromatic olive oil, which was a main component of many fragrances.

Olive oil was also esteemed for its healing properties. The Hippocratic Corpus mentioned more than 60 medicinal uses for olive oil. It was considered a suitable agent for the treatment of skin diseases, including the healing of wounds, due to its antiseptic properties. 

Our salves follow the Greek home remedy tradition of the olive oil-beeswax salve that the lady of the house used to make and keep handy in the home as an all-purpose healing salve. The olive oil nourishes and heals and the beeswax helps to create a barrier that locks in moisture.
