Penelope's Rose Beeswax Salve, 1 oz biodegradable jar

Our 1 oz salves come in a to-go, lightweight compostable container. It is made entirely from sturdy kraft paperboard and equipped with an inner lining made from food grade vegetable wax paper, fully compostable, biodegradable and recyclable.

Olive oil has a centuries old history as a skin protecting agent. In ancient Greece olive oil was a key element in personal care. It was spread on the body to protect the skin from the sun and cold. After a bath, the bather's body and hair were coated with aromatic olive oil, which was a main component of many fragrances.

Olive oil was also esteemed for its healing properties. The Hippocratic Corpus mentioned more than 60 medicinal uses for olive oil. It was considered a suitable agent for the treatment of skin diseases, including the healing of wounds, due to its antiseptic properties. 

This Olive Oil Beeswax Salve is scented subtly with pure Rosa Damascena oil and is made for everyday use. 

This simple yet effective combination of olive oil and beeswax follows the formula that was traditionally trusted in the Greek household to counteract everyday skin ailments such as skin irritation or dryness while at the same time being a reliable face and body care cream.
